Mr Mohamed Shaheen Ebrahim

Mohamed Shaheen Ebrahim (a South African male) is the Chairman of Oasis Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd. since 2001. He is currently the Chairman of six wholly owned subsidiaries of the Group Holding Company, viz. Oasis Asset Management Ltd., and Oasis Crescent Capital (Pty) Ltd. respectively, two regulated Asset Management companies in South Africa; Oasis Crescent Property Fund Managers Ltd., and Oasis Crescent Management Company Ltd. respectively, two authorized Mutual Fund Administration companies in South Africa and Oasis Crescent Retirement Solutions (Pty) Ltd, an authorized Retirement Fund Administrator in South Africa, and Oasis Crescent Wealth (Pty) Ltd.

Shaheen started his professional career in 1972 taking responsibility for the management and operations of his family business and has over 40 years of professional experience. He brings extensive experience to the operations of the group in the management of IT systems, fund and administration systems, and the client services function. Shaheen has completed formal director’s qualifications from the Graduate School of Business Administration of the University of Witwatersrand. He is also the Oasis representative on its Shari’ah Advisory Board and serves as a member of the board of the Association for Savings and Investment South Africa (“ASISA”). He has also served as a director to IMASA (Investment Management Association of South Africa) prior to his association with ASISA.  Shaheen has also written and passed the regulatory exams prescribed for individuals who render financial services in terms of the FAIS Act.

Mr Nazeem Ebrahim

Mr Nazeem Ebrahim (a South African male) serves on the Board of Directors of Oasis Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd as the Executive Director: Legal, Compliance & Marketing. He concurrently sits on the boards of six regulated financial services companies within the domain of Oasis Group Holdings (Pty) Ltd; viz. Oasis Asset Management Ltd, and Oasis Crescent Capital (Pty) Ltd respectively, two regulated Asset Management companies in South Africa; Oasis Crescent Property Fund Managers Ltd, and Oasis Crescent Management Company Ltd respectively, two authorized Mutual Fund Administration companies in South Africa and Oasis Retirement Solutions (Pty) Ltd, an authorized Retirement Fund Administrator in South Africa, and Oasis Crescent Wealth (Pty) Ltd. He currently also holds an Executive position on the Board of Oasis Crescent Property Fund Ltd, a South African JSE Stock Exchange listed, Shari’ah-Compliant, closed-ended property investment fund.

Nazeem was educated at the University of Cape Town where he obtained degrees in Social Science and Law. In 1986, he was admitted as an attorney, and subsequently in 1996, admitted as an attorney of the High Court of South Africa. His professional experience as a legal practitioner and astute businessman spans over 30 years. Since his appointment at Oasis he has assumed responsibility for the regulatory, legal and compliance requirements of the business and has been most instrumental in the brand’s development in his role as Group Marketing Director. He has served on the Industry Supervision Standing Committee of the Association of Collective Investments (now ASISA); the Board of the Institute of Retirement Funds; and the Investment Managers’ Association of South Africa. Nazeem has completed formal director’s qualifications from the Graduate School of Business Administration of the University of Witwatersrand. Nazeem has also written and passed the regulatory exams prescribed for individuals who render financial services in terms of the FAIS Act.

Mr Adam Ismail Ebrahim

Adam Ismail Ebrahim, (a South African male) is the Chief Executive Officer and Chief Investment Officer of the Oasis Group, a wealth management organisation he established in 1997. With keen entrepreneurial acumen, a passionate and disciplined approach to investments, Mr. Ebrahim’s leadership has developed Oasis into a well-diversified and sustainable business in the regulated ethical investment space.  

 

Oasis offers its investors access to its highly rated and well structured products through a personalised service offering. The company’s client reach is further extended through a deep and widespread distribution partnership established amongst private banks, wealth management companies, leading global platform providers and the local investment providers within each region.

 

As the Chief Executive Officer, Adam is responsible for the strategic direction and operating agility of the firm, including its financial soundness, the development of new and improved business, the delivery of simple and relevant product solutions, creating and sustaining strategic alliances, leading the Group’s customer service capability, optimising the business processes with technology, and motivating and mentoring a skilled and determined team. 

 

Adam graduated with an honours degree in Economics from the University of Cape Town where he also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Accounting. He is an admitted Chartered Accountant and Auditor in South Africa and has also completed the CFA Institute’s Chartered Financial Analyst Programme.

 

Prior to establishing Oasis, Adam cultivated his experience through the time he spent working for Deloitte & Touche in South Africa and in London before assuming positions as an analyst, portfolio manager, director, and partner of a prominent asset management organisation. With over 35 years of experience in the financial services industry Adam’s skill and leadership have ensured that Oasis delivers real value to all its investors.

Ms Zahrah Ebrahim

Zahrah qualified as a Chartered Accountant CA (SA) and holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree in the field of management sciences (Law), and a Post-Graduate Diploma in Accounting (PGDA) from the University of Cape Town. She serves as a director of Oasis Crescent Property Fund Managers Limited (and authorized Mutual Fund Administration company in South Africa), Oasis Crescent Insurance Limited, the South African financial advisory company. Oasis Crescent Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd.

 

Zahrah’s experience and key insights in the financial services and the asset management industry has been nurtured from an early age. She has worked in a number of teams dealing with Industrial, commercial, and residential property development projects and is a member of the Model Portfolio and Policy Group committees.

Ms Bint Nur Ebrahim

Bint Nur holds a Bachelor of Business Science Degree as a Finance and Accounting major and a Master of Commerce in Financial Management from the University of Cape Town. She serves as a director of Oasis Asset Management Ltd., and Oasis Crescent Capital (Pty) Ltd. respectively, two regulated Asset Management companies in South Africa; and Oasis Crescent Management Company Ltd. respectively, two authorized Mutual Fund Administration companies in South Africa and Oasis Crescent Retirement Solutions (Pty) Ltd, an authorized Retirement Fund Administrator in South Africa, and Oasis Crescent Wealth (Pty) Ltd. and the South African financial advisory company, Oasis Crescent Advisory Services (Pty) Ltd.

 

Bint Nur has been a member of the research and investment team as an Oasis analyst since 2015 and is a member of the Model portfolio and Policy Group committees. Serving as the director of two asset management firms, she is also the founder of a successful e-commerce company and brings valuable experience and insight to the investment function.
